East Anglian Discos - Frequently asked questions.

Q Which areas do you cover?

A. Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambs, Herts, Essex, Kent & South Lincs.

Q. How much to you charge?

A. This is usually the first question which I am asked. However, as each function is unique, it is very important to establish your requirements first. For example the price will be different if you wish to book me for 6 hours compared to 3 hours. I offer exceptional value for money.

Q. Isn't all disco equipment the same?

A. It certainly is not! I will not compromise on quality or reliability. My sound system is made by the legendary Italian company RCF, and is the best system available. This means a crystal clear sound and the abilty to play in front on an audience from 1 to 500 people.  I use a digital CD based system made by Denon. Lighting can be fully adapted to suit you. I have a vast selection of traditional high quality disco lighting which is fully controllable. In addition, I have lasers and LED lighting. A number of our competitors cut corners by using inferrior unreliable equipment.

Q. Do you charge extra if we require a bubble/fog machine or additional lighting?

A. No. My prices are per function. Any additional lighting such as lasers or a fog machine are included in this price. The price which we quote is the price you pay.

Q. How experienced are you?

A. I have over 20 years of experience. Whether you need a wedding disco, birthday party disco, school prom disco , engagement party disco or a disco or DJ for any other function, you can have 100% faith in East Anglian Discos providing you with a truly professional service.

Q. How loud will the music be?

A. You are in control of the sound level. Just ask me and I will happy to turn it up or down.

Q. Are you reliable?

A. Yes! All bookings are confirmed via a contract. This means that you enter into a legal agreement with me giving you further protection.

Q. Can we have background music during our wedding breakfast?

A. I would be pleased to provide this service at a competitive price.

Q. Can I choose the music which you will play?

A. Yes. It is always a pleasure to receive your requests and playlists in advance or indeed at the function. I have one of the most extensive music collections available for you to select you favourite songs.

Q. How safe is your disco?

A. I will not compromise on safety. I have £10 million of public liability insurance. All equipment is PAT safety certificated. Our vehicle is also insured for full business cover. All equipment is operated in accordance with the manufacturers instructions.  Many of our competitors cut corners by ignoring basic safety.

Q. Can we meet you?

A. Yes. I would be delighted to meet you to discuss your requirements.

Q. How do you dress for each function?

A. I am very flexible. For weddings and corporate events I usually will wear a black tuxedo, unless you require something less formal. I will always consult with you to confirm the appropriate appearance.

Q. Are you able to set up early before the guests arrive?

A. Yes. I recognise that sometimes it is desirable to set up the disco earlier, and I am happy to discuss timings with you.

Q. Can we use your microphone?

A. Yes. I will provide you with a professional radio microphone for your speeches. I do not charge extra for this service.

Q. How do we pay you?

A. Usually this will be Cheque or bank transfer. Cash is also accepted.

Q. We have booked a band as well as a disco. Is that ok with you?

A. Yes. I have worked with a number of the regions top bands and I would be delighted to work with your chosen band.

Q. Can we have games?

A . Yes. I can arrange games for children and adults.

Q. Can we have uplighters?

A. I supply these free of charge to complement the disco.

Q. What are PAT & PLI?

A. Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) is an annual safety check of electrical equipment carried out by our electrical engineer. It is not a legal requirement but a large number of hotels and halls now insist that all entertainers must provide evidence prior to starting work. Public Liability Insurance (PLI) is a professional insurance policy specific to the disco. Both PAT & PLI are an indicator that the disco is  professional.
